Good morning, distinguished professors. It’s my great honor to be here for this interview. My name is XX, XX years old. I am a student of XXX, majoring in XX. Back in middle school, my Chinese teacher once said that: there is no other way to take leave that is as romantic as “再见” in Chinese. It is not only an expression to say goodbye but also a wish to meet someone again. Then I thought: maybe there is. In English, “see you” also has a similar effect. I think it was the very moment that I took interest in the exchanges between two languages. So when I filled in the college application, I chose English as my major without hesitation.During the four years’ time in college, I have been studying very hard and was granted the National scholarship twice. Also, I have taken part in some English competitions and won some awards. I have obtained Certificates of CATTI level 3, TEM4 and other English certificates.As for internship, I worked as a foreign teachers’ assistant in an English training institution, to help them communicate with students. In this process, I really feel the joy of interpreting.Learning translation is like dancing between two worlds. I have to be immersed myself in a different culture. However, the deeper I learn, the more I realize that the world of translation is full of mystery. It is very hard for me to restore the romance and explore some nuances of the original work. Maybe translation is an art full of pities. But I wish I can be endowed with ability to decrease the subtle differences between the original work and the translated version.So at the time of graduation, I do crave for an opportunity to continue my study in Shanghai University. I want to help people meet and connect, I want to see more of the world, and I want to restore the romance of the original work. I can not change the world alone, but I believe, under the guidance of outstanding professors, I can cast a stone across the waters by translating to create some ripples.尊敬的各位教授，早上好。非常荣幸能参加这次面试。我叫XX，今年XX岁，来自XX大学，主修XX。在中学时代，我的语文老师曾说过：没有哪种告别的表达能像中文的"再见"一样浪漫。它不仅意味着离别，更寄托了再次相见的祝愿。当时我想：或许有另一种语言也能如此。英语中的"see you"就有着相似的效果。我想，那正是我对两种语言之间交流产生兴趣的起点。因此在填报大学志愿时，我毫不犹豫地选择了英语专业。大学四年间，我始终刻苦学习，曾两次获得国家奖学金。同时，我积极参与各类英语竞赛并多次获奖，已取得CATTI三级笔译证书、英语专业四级证书等多项专业资质。在实习方面，我曾在一家英语培训机构担任外教助教，协助外教与学生沟通。在这个过程中，我切实感受到了口译工作带来的喜悦。学习翻译犹如在两个世界之间起舞，必须让自己沉浸于不同的文化之中。然而学得越深，我越发觉翻译世界充满奥秘。要还原原文的浪漫情怀、捕捉字里行间的微妙意蕴，对我而言仍是巨大挑战。或许翻译本就是门充满遗憾的艺术，但我渴望获得弥合原作与译作之间精微差异的能力。值此毕业之际，我衷心渴望能获得在XX大学继续深造的机会。我愿成为人与人相遇相识的桥梁，渴望看见更广阔的世界，更希望能忠实传递原文的浪漫情怀。虽不能凭一己之力改变世界，但我坚信，在诸位优秀教授的指导下，我能通过翻译工作投石入水，激起阵阵涟漪。
